there's something about writing music with another person... it's a disarming experience. v here. i didn't realize how closed off i had become about my creative space and process. writing lyrics had never felt like a personal or private act until i tried doing it with someone else. what do we wanna say here? what's the point of the lyric? what word do we want? can it be lighthearted? does this idea hurt you like it hurts me? can we share it? can i trust you?
i've learned that making art with someone else is about trust before anything. i need to be able to say "i want to say this to the world" and he needs to answer "i want you to scream it". he always does. i've never been louder.
